Free Consultation
Before the start of any project, I am available to meet with you for a free and no obligation consultation to discuss your family history needs. At this consultation we can discuss what you already know about your family history and what you would like to learn about your family history. Also, I can also explain my services in detail, and you can examine a portfolio of my work.
Family Histories
Although I offer a full range of genealogy and family history services, I specialize in researching and compiling family histories. These are long term projects where the goal is to locate family records and information, and then compile these items into a family history that consists of a narrative report, family charts and captioned images. These projects involve a great deal of time and commitment, but the end result is a high quality family history that identifies family members and describes many of the important events in their lives. The final report from this type of project is presented in binders with matching slipcases, and additional copies can be produced for other family members or interested parties. Compiled family histories make wonderful gifts for family members. Also, the final report from this type of project can also be produced in a format that is suitable for commercial publishing.
Record Searches
I am available to search for specific family records such as birth, marriage, death, burial, church, census, land, probate, military, pension, immigration, naturalization, employment, etc. These searches can be for a single record or for multiple records.
Problem Solving
I am available to work on solving difficult family problems and mysteries, and I enjoy the challenge that these types of problems often pose. Solving difficult family mysteries usually involves searching for a number of records, and analyzing evidence from a number of sources, rather than searching for just one specific record. Sometimes, family history problems can be solved relatively easily, but sometimes they involve a great deal of research and analysis.
Lineage Society Applications
I am available to help complete membership applications that are required by a number of lineage societies such as the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Research Review
If you have already done some family history research, and just need some help or advice, I am available to review your research and prepare a written research plan that can assist you with future research.
Research Organization
If you need help organizing your existing family research, I can help you "put it all together", even if you don't desire any additional research. I can take your own research and create reports and charts based on what you already know about your family. Often organizing your research in this manner can assist you with identifying areas for future research
